ROAR Bistro & Bar, an elegant eatery located at the Michelangelo Towers in Sandton, is proud to announce that Executive Chef Thabang Mohapi has recently joined its team from AURUM and brings with him a fresh, new menu to pair. The dishes will focus on all things fresh and champion local SA produce and flavours.

ROAR opened its doors to the public just under two years ago and forms part of Legacy Hotels & Resorts’ collection of fine eateries. At an exclusive media preview event held last week, Glenn Stutchbury, Director of Legacy Hotels & Resorts, addressed the media highlighting that Roar is one of the few restaurants in Sandton that celebrate refined local and African cuisine.

“This is a beautiful, all-day dining retreat for lovers of food and wine and the perfect place to pause, relax, have a drink and feast on a host of delicious African cuisines - a rare commodity on the Sandton food scene,” says Stutchbury.

As before, ROAR’s menu will offer a selection of both big and small plates. Some of the key dishes to look forward to in the small plate section include the Venison Carpaccio and the Goats Cheese with Beetroot. Big plates to try are the Pork Belly and Oxtail Potjie which pack a punch of flavour. Lastly, for dessert, the star of the show is the chef’s take on an African favourite, Malva Pudding.

“Our new menu will honour quality local produce and hero all the indigenous flavours that make ROAR’s afro-cuisine unique. We hope that our team’s shared love and passion for fine food, will translate to an incredible guest experience on the plate and look forward to welcoming our guests to come and try it,” says Chef Thabang Mohapi.
